Meeting with Ambassador Aingeal O’Donoghue, Permanent Representative of Ireland to the EU

The Italian Initiative Group had the pleasure of welcoming Aingeal O’Donoghue, Permanent Representative of Ireland to the EU, ahead of the upcoming Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

In particular, the meeting focused on the three key priorities of the Presidency: European values, competitiveness, and security/defence.

The discussion provided an opportunity to further explore the strategic priorities of the GII members in attendance through an open and constructive dialogue on the main European legislative dossiers that will be addressed during the second half of 2026.

Special thanks go to Ambassador Celeste and to the Permanent Representation of Italy to the EU for their continuous support of the GII’s activities.
