The Italian Initiative Group, GII, is the association representing the Italian community and its diversified interests in Brussels: business, research, innovation, services, food and agriculture. Since 1995, GII thrives to improve Italy’s image in the European capital through a better coordination of the Italian stakeholders and the establishment of a network of relations with Belgian and European Institutions.

In the latest years, GII has been promoting high-profile meetings with institutional and entrepreneurial spokesmen going through economic and business topics regarding Italy and Europe.

In 2011 GII also established the “Premio Italia-Europa” as a reward to representatives of Italian institutions and enterprises whose activities gained wide consenus in promoting Italy’s image in Europe.

GII thanks the Italian Embassy in Belgium and the other members of the Association for the collaboration and support received throughout the year and for making the 2018 events a big success.

Award Ceremony of Italian Republic’s Official Decorations

On December 12, in the occasion of the Award Ceremony of Italian Republic’s official decorations, Alberto Mazzola, President of the Italian Iniative Group (GII), and Head of International Government Affairs at Italy's state rail company Ferrovie dello Stato, was honored with the title of Cavaliere of  the Order of the Star of Italy by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, and the Italian Ambassador to Belgium, Elena Basile, Honorary President of the Italian Iniative Group.

Gruppo di Iniziativa Italiana and Fondazione CS MARE are delighted to invite you to participate to "Destination Europe on the Move: Which Route for European Companies? Focus on Italy" on November 28, from 9:30 to 13.15, at the European Parliament, to assess the impact on industry and SMEs of the new measures of the Third Mobility Package implemented by the European Commission on May 2018, in order to propose a route to follow so that companies are ready not only to face the wave of change but also to govern it, seizing all opportunities that will derive from it.
