The Italian Initiative Group, GII, is the association representing the Italian community and its diversified interests in Brussels: business, research, innovation, services, food and agriculture. Since 1995, GII thrives to improve Italy’s image in the European capital through a better coordination of the Italian stakeholders and the establishment of a network of relations with Belgian and European Institutions.
In the latest years, GII has been promoting high-profile meetings with institutional and entrepreneurial spokesmen going through economic and business topics regarding Italy and Europe.
In 2011 GII also established the “Premio Italia-Europa” as a reward to representatives of Italian institutions and enterprises whose activities gained wide consenus in promoting Italy’s image in Europe.
On November 28th Gruppo di Iniziativa Italiana, BNP Paribas Fortis, in collaboration with Comites of Brussels, Brabant and Flanders, hosted the conference in Brussels titled The economic context and the 'Janus effect': recovery, surprises, risks in the European and Italian scenario.
