Meeting with Vincenzo Celeste | Deputy Permanent to the EU

The GII was pleased to host the Permanent Representative to the EU, Vincenzo Celeste, on September 3rd in Brussels at Le Louise Hotel (Av. de la Toison d’Or 40, 1050 Brussels, Belgium).

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the geopolitical context and the evolution of the conflict in Ukraine, with particular attention to security and European unity. Trade policies were also addressed, focusing on the new challenges within the framework of the tariff agreement with the United States and the EU’s new trade agreements, particularly with MERCOSUR.

Further topics included the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), with a focus on post-2027 prospects in terms of competitiveness and support for businesses, the role of regional authorities in the management of single funds, and the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

The event fostered a constructive dialogue between institutions and the economic community, in line with the GII’s mission.

President Alberto Mazzola and Vice President Massimo Baldinato thanked Ambassador Celeste for his valuable contribution and expressed their hope to continue the dialogue in the coming months.
