Meeting with Roberto Viola – Director General of DG CONNECT at the European Commission

The meeting with Roberto Viola represented an important opportunity to address issues related to the development of digital networks, such as the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) of 2019, Industry 4.0, the overcoming of the digital divide, both in terms of the economic development of the most disadvantaged areas in Europe, and as a driving force for the economy itself, based on the future European institutional and legislative framework. Finally, topics related to the development of digital telecommunications in synergy with the transportation networks and the challenges of cybersecurity and data protection have been discussed.
