Gruppo di Iniziativa Italiana Giovani (GIIg): EU Year of Skills: Upskilling and Reskilling the workforce in the wake of the Twin transitions

On 18 April from 6.30 p.m. the Youth Committee of the Italian Initiative Group (GIIg) in cooperation with Confartigianato Imprese, A2A and other GII member companies will organise the event entitled "EU Year of Skills: Upskilling and Reskilling the workforce in the wake of the Twin transitions". The conference will be followed by a networking cocktail. The event focuses on 2023, declared the European Year of Skills, and will explore topics such as the availability and upskilling of specialised skills in response to the challenges of the digital and ecological transition, the results of recent European initiatives and Italian and European best practices that serve as benchmarks at enterprise level. The future challenges of the 'twin transition' and how the European Union supports the development of training policies to combat labour shortages and promote specialised skills of global strategic importance will be discussed. The conference, introduced by the Italian Ambassador to Belgium, Federica Favi, will be attended by distinguished institutional speakers and business representatives. Participants include Santo Darko Grillo, Italian Government delegate for the European Year of Skills, and representatives of significant entities such as the EU Presidency, the Permanent Representation, the European Commission, the EESC, CEDEFOP, as well as Italian and international companies such as A2A and Confartigianato Imprese. The event will be held in English.

Il giorno 18 aprile alle ore 18:30, il comitato giovani del Gruppo di Iniziativa Italiana (GIIg) in collaborazione con Confartigianato Imprese, A2A ed altre aziende associate del GII, organizzera' l'evento intitolato "EU Year of Skills: Upskilling and Reskilling the workforce in the wake of the Twin transitions", presso il Comitato Economico e Sociale Europeo (CESE),  Rue Belliard 99, presso l'Atrium (6º piano).  La conferenza sarà seguita da un networking cocktail. L'evento si focalizza sul 2023, dichiarato Anno europeo delle competenze, ed esplorerà temi come la disponibilità e l'aggiornamento delle competenze specializzate in risposta alle sfide della transizione digitale ed ecologica, i risultati delle iniziative europee recenti e le best practices italiane ed europee che servono come benchmark a livello di impresa. Si discuteranno le sfide future della "twin transition" e come l'Unione Europea supporti lo sviluppo di politiche formative per combattere la carenza di manodopera e promuovere competenze specializzate di rilievo strategico globale. La conferenza, introdotta dall'Ambasciatore d'Italia in Belgio, Federica Favi, vedrà la partecipazione di illustri relatori istituzionali e rappresentanti d'impresa. Tra i partecipanti figurano Santo Darko Grillo, delegato del Governo italiano per l'Anno europeo delle competenze, e rappresentanti di entità significative come la Presidenza dell'UE, la Rappresentanza Permanente, la Commissione Europea, il CESE, il CEDEFOP, nonché aziende italiane e internazionali come A2A e Confartigianato Imprese. L'evento si svolgerà in inglese.
